My name's Andy Laub, founder and director of As It Happens Creative. I've hiked more than 5,000 miles in search of compelling stories. From nature films to cultural documentaries, my work as an executive producer, writer, cinematographer, editor, visual effects artist, expedition coordinator, and soundtrack composer has been featured on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, BBC World, the Camden International Film Festival and D.C.’s Environmental Film Festival.
My films focus on a variety of topics including: the collapse of the eco-system and economy in the Gulf of Maine, the effect of urban boom in modern Mongolia, discovering new applications for ancient Hopi Indian traditions, personal triumph inside the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, and an investigation into how the largest environmental restoration project in the world effects a centuries old culture within the Florida Everglades. I also enjoy a passionate following for my first feature film, As It Happens: Pacific Crest Trail. Since its release, the number of hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail have doubled. This film has been viewed by over half a million people worldwide.
